How Research Infrastructures redefine social science research in universities? Evidence from Italy

The contribution examines the transformative potential of Open Science (OS) in universities, focusing on their participation in European social-science Research Infrastructures (RIs) as key instruments through which OS principles are operationalized. The study takes an explorative perspective on social science research, a field where RIs have specific features with respect to the RIs in STEMM areas. The empirical investigation considers the case of five Italian universities, using a comparative multi-source qualitative approach.
