Volterra (Pisa) - Anfiteatro romano, notizie preliminari. Le attività dell'Istituto di Scienze del Patrimonio Culturale (CNR-ISPC): il rilievo fotogrammetrico

The paper gives an account of the results emerged during the excavation campaigns that have brought to light the Roman amphitheater of Volterra. Beyond a brief story of the discovery, the layout of the monument, as largely emerged during the years 2019 and 2020, is here displayed, with particular attention to the design, the partition of the interior space, the building technique and other technical aspects detected during the investigation. The report is completed by some focus on the mobile finds of the Late Antique and Medieval period and on the restoration activities, as well as the outcomes of the archaeometric investigations carried out so far.
