We analyse the characteristics of the resulting waveforms as solutions of the telegrapher's equation. Two models are considered: one based on the original formulation by DeWitt-Morette and Foong (an exact model) and another, an approximated model presented here, which enables a simplified analysis. In both cases, we demonstrated that the resulting waveforms - both undistorted and distorted - maintain the characteristics of the input forms, apart from a time-dependent attenuation.

Abstract

We analyse the characteristics of the resulting waveforms as solutions of the telegrapher's equation. Two models are considered: one based on the original formulation by DeWitt-Morette and Foong (an exact model) and another, an approximated model presented here, which enables a simplified analysis. In both cases, we demonstrated that the resulting waveforms - both undistorted and distorted - maintain the characteristics of the input forms, apart from a time-dependent attenuation.
