Abstract

Scavenging activity in the western Pomo pit fishing grounds (Adriatic sea) was studied by means of baited funnel traps with the aim of evaluating its impact on a hypothetic creeling activity for Nephrops. The isopod Natatolana borealis was the main responsible for bait consumption, which took place completely within 24 hours of trap deployment. Amphipods arrived later, not before 12 h.
