The Map Sheets 128 "Venezia" and 148-149 "Chioggia-Malamocco" of the 1:50,000 scale map series of the Agency for Environmental Protection and Technical Services (APAT) of Italy (formerly Italian Geological Survey) were produced within the framework of the CARG Project. These geological maps were realized in order to show the age, distribution, sedimentological characteristics, and depositional environments of the stratigraphic units outcropping, or buried, in the Lagoon and Gulf of Venice and in the nearby mainland. Stratigraphic sections across the investigated area provided information about their three-dimensional relationships.
