The InterMedia project aims at progressing towards user-centric convergence of multimedia, by putting the user at the center of services (multimedia applications), devices and interfaces for the interaction. One of the main implications of the user-centric approach is the seamless and secure access to content, regardless of the users' location and terminal device(s), which requires suitable solutions to manage mobility, context-awareness and digital rights. Under this respect this paper reviews the mechanisms developed within InterMedia to support the above issues, and discusses their integration in a common networking framework addressing a generic scenario for content access.

Abstract
The InterMedia project aims at progressing towards user-centric convergence of multimedia, by putting the user at the center of services (multimedia applications), devices and interfaces for the interaction. One of the main implications of the user-centric approach is the seamless and secure access to content, regardless of the users' location and terminal device(s), which requires suitable solutions to manage mobility, context-awareness and digital rights. Under this respect this paper reviews the mechanisms developed within InterMedia to support the above issues, and discusses their integration in a common networking framework addressing a generic scenario for content access.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
