Symptoms of CVYV infection, cytoplasmic inclusions, and sampling techniques are described. Identification is obtained by means of mechanical inoculation to cucumber plants, reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), and nucleic acid hybridization. Protocols are fully described in the Appendices. Flow diagram for the detection and identification of CVYV is included.
