This study carries out a multi-scale analysis aimed to assess the impact of a set of road alternatives on geomorphology in the Trento area (Italy). In particular, the main geomorphologic components have been taken into account and analyzed in relation to the adopted scale of study. By establishing links between human and natural environment, it is possible to include geomorphologic considerations into decision processes. The results of a multi-scale impact analysts have been used to estimate the overall impact of the different alternatives and propose a suitability ranking.
