This paper proposes an algorithm to recognize rotated, scaled or overlapping polyhedral objects using only one orthographic projection. The procedure is not based on the numerical solution of nonlinear equations and does not require any a priori knowledge. It is an algebraic method for testing whether a cluster of edges and vertices, in a line drawing, correspond to an orthographic view or a given 3D model. It has the advantage of being based on simple algebraic equations, which are easy to solve and do not require time-consuming numerical procedures.

Abstract
This paper proposes an algorithm to recognize rotated, scaled or overlapping polyhedral objects using only one orthographic projection. The procedure is not based on the numerical solution of nonlinear equations and does not require any a priori knowledge. It is an algebraic method for testing whether a cluster of edges and vertices, in a line drawing, correspond to an orthographic view or a given 3D model. It has the advantage of being based on simple algebraic equations, which are easy to solve and do not require time-consuming numerical procedures.File in questo prodotto:
