Abstract

Wikyoto is a framework built for the Kyoto project with the aim to develop a user-friendly environment to build multilingual language resources for specific domains. The Kyoto project aims at building a cross-lingual search engine for the environmental domain by managing seven languages: English, Ducth, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Spanish and Basque. The modular approach of Wikyoto allows adding new languages as well as dealing with other knowledge domains. Wikyoto hides the complex structures of the multilingual resources and allows accessing and reusing knowledge from global extern resources such as Wikipedia or SKOS thesauri.
