Abstract

A method based on electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) for the diagnosis of prosthesis osseointegration was proposed by the Authors. In this paper, the in-vivo test procedure, the metrological characterization of a PC-based instrument, and the preliminary experimental results for in-vivo validation are presented. The in-vivo results show the method effectiveness in discriminating different osseointegration levels of percutaneous cochlear prostheses.
