The contribution analyzes the role played by the Stoic notion of "semen" in its biological as well as cosmological meanings in the conception of divine generation. It is above all the Stoic theory of the seminal reasons, according to which through the cyclical and recurrent destruction of the physical world, the rational structure of reality remains inaltered in God's mind in form of intelligible patterns, which contributes most to the idea of divine generation and divine parenthood.

Abstract
The contribution analyzes the role played by the Stoic notion of "semen" in its biological as well as cosmological meanings in the conception of divine generation. It is above all the Stoic theory of the seminal reasons, according to which through the cyclical and recurrent destruction of the physical world, the rational structure of reality remains inaltered in God's mind in form of intelligible patterns, which contributes most to the idea of divine generation and divine parenthood.File in questo prodotto:
