Hydrodynamic aspects of different high-speed vessels including hydrofoil catamarans, SES, catamarans and monohulls are presented. The main emphasis is on wave effects. Optirnization, wash and operation lirnits are briefly discussed. W ave loads, in particular local and global slamming effects, on catamarans are discussed in detail with emphasis on hydroelasticity.
