The proposed method is based on the choice of the equations of the dynamical model of the rotating induction machine. It permits to have some advantages, for control purposes, in comparison with others based on the more complete, but more involved, unidimensional infinite model. Such advantages are: reduced burden of computation, adaptability to time varying parameters and, as a result, more usefulness in control applications. Its main feature is that it is based on measurable electrical and mechanical quantities and not on a priori derived analytical formulas. Numerical simulations show that the values of the estimated parameters are closer to those obtained with the open induced part test and the blocked induced part test than those obtainable using analytical simplified formulas. For this reason this method can be suitably used also for field-oriented-controlled and direct-torque-controlled drives with linear motors.
