The consolidation of archaeol. charred and/or mineralized wood is not simply a problem in terms of excavation operations and of preservation, and the subsequent for exposition. Aim of this study is to identify a system suitable for impregnation, based on synthetic polymers. An epoxy resin, supplied by Elantas Camattini has been used for impregnation. The resin penetrates what remains of parenchymatical canals, esp. in the lignin. The proposed method can be used as first application, starting the restoration of artifacts directly after field excavation.

Abstract
The consolidation of archaeol. charred and/or mineralized wood is not simply a problem in terms of excavation operations and of preservation, and the subsequent for exposition. Aim of this study is to identify a system suitable for impregnation, based on synthetic polymers. An epoxy resin, supplied by Elantas Camattini has been used for impregnation. The resin penetrates what remains of parenchymatical canals, esp. in the lignin. The proposed method can be used as first application, starting the restoration of artifacts directly after field excavation.File in questo prodotto:
