At the end of the eighties the National Geological Survey of Italy (SGN) started to carry out the new geological and thematic cartography to a scale of 1:50.000 (CARG Project). Together with the field surveys and mapping the project aimed at the building of a related data base . The SGN proposed some guide lines in order to obtain a homogenous products in terms of contents and cartographic representation (AA.VV, 1996 e AA.VV., 1997). The paper shows the adopted procedure in order to get the cartographic representation from digital georeferenced data.
