The thermal properties and the crystallization process of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (P3HB) and its copolymers, in the presence of other polymers were analyzed. The blends of P3HB and the copolymers with atactic poly(3-hydroxybutyrate), poly(vinyl acetate), poly(methylene oxide), poly(ethylene oxide), poly(methyl methacrylate) were considered. The influence of miscibility and composition on solidification kinetics and crystal structure was also discussed.

Abstract

The thermal properties and the crystallization process of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (P3HB) and its copolymers, in the presence of other polymers were analyzed. The blends of P3HB and the copolymers with atactic poly(3-hydroxybutyrate), poly(vinyl acetate), poly(methylene oxide), poly(ethylene oxide), poly(methyl methacrylate) were considered. The influence of miscibility and composition on solidification kinetics and crystal structure was also discussed.
