This study is intended to illustrate a methodological approach for 3-Dimensional reconstruction, visualisation and modeling of buried deep and shallow subsurface geological bodies by means of GOCAD®, a software based on the Discrete Smooth Interpolation algorithm (DSI, Mallet, 1997, 1992). The proposed procedure exploits the information originally stored and managed by GIS tools and techniques for 3D reconstructions of surfaces, volumes, and grids. A discrete atomic structure of the analysed objects has been used.

Abstract
This study is intended to illustrate a methodological approach for 3-Dimensional reconstruction, visualisation and modeling of buried deep and shallow subsurface geological bodies by means of GOCAD®, a software based on the Discrete Smooth Interpolation algorithm (DSI, Mallet, 1997, 1992). The proposed procedure exploits the information originally stored and managed by GIS tools and techniques for 3D reconstructions of surfaces, volumes, and grids. A discrete atomic structure of the analysed objects has been used.File in questo prodotto:
