In this work a bi-layer film, PP-PA6 nanocomposite, was prepared with an industrial machine in order to verify the possibility to produce this film in large scale. PA6 nanocomposites containing an organic modified phillosilicate were prepared both by in situ and melt blending procedures. Oxygen permeability and mechanical properties of the final materials were evaluated and an accurate morphological characterization by Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and Automated Image Analysis (AIA) was performed.
