Helicobacter pylori is a Gram-negative bacterium which causes ulcer, atrophic gastritis, adenocarcinoma, or mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma. Metronidazole resistance in H. pylori is an increasing problem worldwide. Here we present a pilot study to characterize differences in protein expression that may contribute to metronidazole resistance in H. pylori.
