In this paper we describe ADAMS, a system for the definition and manipulation of Statistical Databases (SDB). It provides the user with a Direct Manipulation Interface in order to simplify macrodata manipulation activity of the epidemiologists and their data analysis activity. The system allows to represent macrodata using spread-sheet and their functionalities in order to examine macrodata that are the results of manipulation.
