Abstract

Electrophoretic analyses of varieties bred in China have led to the identification of one variety Xiaoyanmai 7, in which a novel pattern of high molecular weight glutenin subunits (HMW-GS) was detected. In order to better identify these subunits biochemical and molecular analyses have been carried out and the glutenin subunit composition determined. Hypothesis on the genetic control of new allelic subunits have been claimed on the base of the results obtained by a segregating population.
