Structural evolution in the lower Susa and Sangone valleys: the Col del Lis-Trana Deformation Zone. The lower Susa and Sangone valleys (NW-Alps) are character- ized by the tectonic coupling of both oceanic (Bassa Val di Susa- Valli di Lanzo-Monte Orsiera Unit-SU) and continental metamor- phic units (Dora-Maira Unit-DM). These units record a polyphasic syn- to late-metamorphic deformation history, characterized by four superposed deformation phases. The post-metamorphic evolution is characterized by a complex fault network related to a N-S trending regional deformation zone (Col del Lis-Trana Deformation Zone- ZLT). Field evidences and structural correlations with the adjoining areas suggest that the ZLT represents a dextral shear zone activated during the Oligocene E-W regional shortening.
