The electroluminescent characteristics of OLEDs based on 1,4-bis(pyrrol-2yl)-2,5dicyanobenzene (DPDCB), in single (SL) and double layer (DL) configuration are reported, In DL configuration the DPDCB works both as emitter as well as hole transporting layer together with Triphenylamine (TPD) and (Hydroxyquinolinolato)-Al(III) (Alq3) respectively. Luminance of about 1200 cd/m2 was achieved when the DPDCB is used as hole transporting layer (HTL).
