Workflow specifications for the management of non structured processes in manufacturing

This paper aims at defining the specifications of a Workflow Management System (WfMS) for the of manufacturing processes, both and nont structured Non structured processes are those in which the sequence of intervention of the actors involved in the execution is unknown and can not be pre-defined and mapped in advance. Non structured processes represent a critical task for the automation with a WfMS. The case study of our analysis is a machine tool production enterprise, characterised by complex products and processes. In this paper we state that the WfMS that best fits this case's requirements should be characterised by a dynamic behaviour, openness to the web and a strict integration with existing Information System.
