Ten years of research activities held at CIRA (the Italian Aerospace Research Centre) on the numerical aeroacoustics of rotors are covered in this paper. The most significant results achieved during this period are presented and discussed, both for the linear and nonlinear problems, by pointing out the main features of the different numerical approaches. Tha, an analysis of the capabilities and the weak-points of the available prediction tools will be performed, in order to evaluate their own reliability and possible applications in an industrial context.

Abstract
