16 kDa gamma-zein is the smallest member of the gamma-zein family of seed storage prolamins of Zea mays, which includes also the 27 kDa and 50 kDa members. Gamma-zeins are assembled in endoplasmic reticulum-located protein bodies, together with the other zeins. The 16 kDa protein was expressed in tobacco protoplasts to determine if it contains information sufficient for localization in the endoplasmic reticulum.

Abstract
16 kDa gamma-zein is the smallest member of the gamma-zein family of seed storage prolamins of Zea mays, which includes also the 27 kDa and 50 kDa members. Gamma-zeins are assembled in endoplasmic reticulum-located protein bodies, together with the other zeins. The 16 kDa protein was expressed in tobacco protoplasts to determine if it contains information sufficient for localization in the endoplasmic reticulum.File in questo prodotto:
