Mt. Cimone (44°12' N, 10°42' E, 2165 m asl) is the highest peak of the Northern Apennines, at the border line of two different climatic regions: the continental Europe northwards and the Mediterranean Basin southwards. it is the only high mountain station running in the Mediterranean basin and the continuous measurements of trace gases and aerosol contribute in better defining the atmospheric composition variability in this hot-spot region. The station is composed by a trace gas laboratory, an aerosol laboratory and a greenhouse gas laboratory. Aerosol samplers for PM-10 and PM-10/PM-1 are accommodate in a specific designed shelter. The terrace (about 40 m2) is equipped for hosting external experimental activity and a small chemistry laboratory permits a clean treatment of collected samplings. The laboratories run by electric energy only. Remote internet connection allows the near-real time data delivery and QA/QC.

The terrace (about 40 m2) is equipped for hosting external experimental activity and a small chemistry laboratory permits a clean treatment of collected samplings.
