Abstract

An original optical setup is proposed for monitoring TAN online. An integrating sphere is used for scattering-free absorption measurements. A single-wavelength interrogation scheme is proposed, which is precursor of using LED illumination. The experiment demonstrates that, depending on the lubricant oil being used, TAN can be predicted by simple optical measurements with good accuracy. © 2014 AEIT.
