Abstract

A new method for the measurement of the spectrally resolved angular intensity distributions (AID) of cylindrical arc or flash-lamps, in a single-shot, is presented. Use of a bidimensional CCD array and an imaging spectrograph, allows a complete determination of the emission characteristics. Typical results on a Kr flash-lamp for Nd:YAG laser pumping are shown. A simple model, permitting easier use of experimental results in ray-tracing simulations, is also presented.
