This paper deals with the probable recharge area of the Sangemini mineral water springs (Terni - Umbria, Central Italy) and the residence time of water in aquifers. To this purpose Sr and U-series isotopic systematic were investigated. The extension of the aquifer was constrained by coupling Sr isotopic data on waters and local geological settings. Groundwaters would to circulate mainly in clayey sandy Quaternary series characterised by low redox conditions. U and Ra recoil models provided a groundwater residence time of about 350 years, and a volume of 64* 10 6 m 3 for the reservoir.

Abstract
This paper deals with the probable recharge area of the Sangemini mineral water springs (Terni - Umbria, Central Italy) and the residence time of water in aquifers. To this purpose Sr and U-series isotopic systematic were investigated. The extension of the aquifer was constrained by coupling Sr isotopic data on waters and local geological settings. Groundwaters would to circulate mainly in clayey sandy Quaternary series characterised by low redox conditions. U and Ra recoil models provided a groundwater residence time of about 350 years, and a volume of 64* 10 6 m 3 for the reservoir.File in questo prodotto:
