The study was produced upon request of the Company Agrifutur S.r.l. for registration purposes in compliance with the EU Regulation (EC) n. 1107/2009 concerning the placing of plant protection products on the market and repealing Council Directives 79/117/EEC and 91/414/EEC. The issues that Agrifutur asked to be addressed by this study were: 1)Revision of the molecular identification at the species level of T. harzianum Rifai strain ITEM 908; 2)Identification of a variable region of the T. atrobrunneum (formerly T. harzianum) ITEM 908 genome suitable for the univocal identification at strain level; 3)Development of a molecular method based on PCR amplification of the diagnostic variable DNA region of T. atrobrunneum (formerly T. harzianum) ITEM 908 for the univocal identification of ITEM 908 at strain level;
