Genetic variability of the cultivated wheats can be recovered and mantained by exploiting the gene pools of related species. Many wild species of Triticum, Aegilops, Agropyron, Secale and Dasypyrum include polulations with adaptation to diverse habitats, resistance to pest and deseades, high seed protein content and quality, etc. The incorporation of such genes can be achieved by genetic induction of homoelogous pairing in interspecific hybrids or derivatives from hybrids that have one or more alien chromosomes. A high degree of precision can be obtained by crossing mutant lines for thr Ph gene (suppressor of homoelogous pairing) and addition lines having the alien chromosome telosomic. In the progeny of a durum wheat cv Creso - Dasypyrum villosum monosomic addition line a powdery mildew resistant plant having the short arm of Dasypyrum chromosome C was selected. Selfing of monotelo additiona yelded a stable and fertile ditelosomic addition line. Meiotic pairing of the wheat chromosome was not a affected by the presence of the incorporated telosomics. Electrophoretic analysis of the seed storage proteins revealed that the added Dasypyrum chromosome arm posses also a gene fot two ?-? gliadin components and it should than be homoelogous to the short arm of wheat chromosome group 6. Such homoelogous relationship was further confirmed by the localization of a structurale gene coding for the isozymes glutamate oxalacetate transaminase (GOT-2). the presence of such markers facilitates the transfer of powdery mildew resistance from Dasypyrum to cultuivated wheat by using the Ph-mutant lines.

Abstract
Such homoelogous relationship was further confirmed by the localization of a structurale gene coding for the isozymes glutamate oxalacetate transaminase (GOT-2). the presence of such markers facilitates the transfer of powdery mildew resistance from Dasypyrum to cultuivated wheat by using the Ph-mutant lines.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
