Snow and soil samples have been collected in the Brøgger peninsula (Spitzbergen, Svalbard Islands) during an intensive campaign performed at the CNR Dirigibile Italia Arctic Station in Ny-Ålesund. The main goal of this campaign is characterizing the iron speciation in the particles deposited into the annual snow and in the rocks\soil present in the peninsula. The final aim of the proposal is identify which process between the local or the long range atmospheric transport is the main factor controlling the iron speciation and its sources into the annual snow and in general in the Spitzbergen region during the spring season.
