The essay focuses on an astrological text in old Sicilian, published here for the first time. The text survives in a single manuscript: London, British Library, Harley 3535. The codex is a miscellaneous one, and transmits, along with the zodiacal text, three Sicilian translations of Latin treatises on hippiatry. The text reveals vague connections with the medieval tradition of medical-astrological repertories in Latin and other languages. on the basis of paleographic evidence the text can be dated no earlier than the end of the fifteenth century. a critical transcription of the text is provided, together with a linguistic study and a glossary of approximately 300 entries.
