the chapter will first address the issue of researching digital governance by highlighting the topic and some of the research methods that have been currently mobilized to trace, register and analyze its dynamics. Second, the chapter will present a project of making cartographies of the digital governance of education by relying on the gathering and data analysis realized in a research project on the becoming-digital of governance in Italy and the European Union (EU) (Landri, 2018). I will illustrate, in particular, how the fabrication of cartographies is related to Actor-Network Theory and the peculiarity of this methodological apparatus. The chapter will finally discuss this project of making cartographies by illustrating how it is complementing and expanding the available methodologies of comparative research and international studies on education policy.
