Water electrolysis is considered as a mature technology for hydrogen production. But nowadays the hydrogen produced by electrolysis is currently more expensive than that of conventional processes. Based on our previous studies, extra revenue could be obtained by considering the amount of oxygen co-produced from electrolysis. Recently, we enlarged this point of view, by considering a hypothetical enterprise or business activity (public or private) adopting a photovoltaic-powered electrolysis plant considering the co-production of Hydrogen and Oxygen both to sell or to fulfil its needs of oxygen for its own use. In this work, we propose a financial evaluation of different sizes of the RES-based electrolytic plant for hydrogen and oxygen co-production, in order to meet a variety of requests or applications.
