The ultimate goal of an information provider is to satisfy the user information needs. That is, to provide the user with the right information, at the right time, through the right means. In this paper we will present the EUROgatherer service, an EU Telematics Information Engineering Programme funded project, which (i) provides an advanced personalized information gathering service on the Web; (ii) extends and improves Internet services already available on the net through a flexible and open architecture.
