Inspiring Science Education (ISE) learning scenario incorporates an inquiry model supporting learners' creation and discussion of their ideas. Randomness and object motion are important science concepts, albeit difficult to learn. Computational representations enable us to introduce discrete and qualitative forms of modelling, which can support teaching and learning of complex subject. Two previously developed activities on randomness and falling objects have been adapted to ISE authoring tool. The adaptation has the aim of making available research results while ensuring autonomous use by the teacher. We are currently testing demonstrators in Italian schools to gather evidence on their use in classrooms.

Abstract
Inspiring Science Education (ISE) learning scenario incorporates an inquiry model supporting learners' creation and discussion of their ideas. Randomness and object motion are important science concepts, albeit difficult to learn. Computational representations enable us to introduce discrete and qualitative forms of modelling, which can support teaching and learning of complex subject. Two previously developed activities on randomness and falling objects have been adapted to ISE authoring tool. The adaptation has the aim of making available research results while ensuring autonomous use by the teacher. We are currently testing demonstrators in Italian schools to gather evidence on their use in classrooms.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
