The paper aims to present an overview of the national and international scientific literature on the topic of the display of ancient human remains, with a specific focus on the Ministry of Culture’s guidelines published in 2022. In addition to a detailed commentary on the MiC document, in its parts relating to the museum exhibition, the contribution has the objective to illustrate the experience of the National Research Council on these issues, in the perspective of the collaboration between Institutions that deal with cultural heritage with different viewpoints and competences.
