Variazione e omogeneità nel più antico repertorio lessicale italiano

he texts belonging to a diachronic corpus such as the TLIO corpus, in addition to having an autonomous life as singular historical products, object of a specific philological and linguistic attention, acquire meaning and documentary value as witnesses of the lexical repertoire they contribute to (re)construct. The interaction and comparison between the lexical forms of different texts, made possible by digital management, allows us to enhance the differential contribution of each individual text. Based on the use of this investigation possibility, the article proposes a qualitative and quantitative analysis oriented on the theme of the alleged homogeneity of the lexicon of the ancient Italian texts. The space of the diatopic component is enhanced as well as the consistency of “diatopically neutral” components, by developing a reflection that involves theoretical models supporting the consideration of the historical-linguistic and variational architecture of the lexical repertoire, the terminological tools and the methods of the corpus-driven investigation.
