We report the synthesis of monodisperse colloidal CsX (X = Cl, Br, I) nanocrystals (NCs) and their transformation into CsPbX₃ perovskite NCs via cation exchange with Pb²⁺. The process proceeds through intermediate CsX/CsPbX₃ core–shell structures, preserving shape while reducing size. High-resolution TEM and optical studies confirm the transformation pathway and structural evolution. The resulting perovskite NCs show size-dependent photoluminescence with quantum yields up to 60% after surface passivation.
