Legume species represent a valuable source of high-quality nutritional proteins, and the Apulia region (Southern Italy) has a long-standing tradition of legume cultivation.Within the PSR project SavegrainPugliaLeg, funded by Apulia region, nine chickpea landraces were analysed in relation to drought stress resilience. A combination of molecular and biochemical analyses was conducted to assess also their genetic variability, and seed nutritional profile.
