La prospettiva intertestuale nell’analisi della più antica produzione documentaria meridionale (tra confini e pluralità)

In the southern Italy the Lombard component played an important role both by determining the definition of historical-political borders - sometimes retraced by the borders between traditions of language and writing - and by activating dynamics of contact, acculturation and integration. In general, all the identities co-present in the early medieval southern Italy contributed to the creation of a polycentric historical context in which local and supra-local trends emerge. The paper focuses on the characteristic particularism of the oldest southern legal documents by analyzing the variation manifested by the formular lexicon. The importance of an intertextual perspective aimed at highlighting similarities and differences is emphasized. The collection of a rich series of variation phenomena is useful in a geo-historical and stratigraphic perspective that involves the study of the communities of writers and their linguistic heritage.
