Floods are becoming more frequent and damaging in the Sahel. This study examines how early warning systems for floods can be developed jointly across borders. Using a real experience between Niger and Burkina Faso, the paper shows that working together with institutions, communities, and decision makers improves not only services, but also cooperation, trust, and long-term sustainability. The study offers practical and methodological guidance for managing flood risks in shared river basins.
