This paper concerns the design and realization of an innovative learning activity in a bilingual multimedia lab in junior high school. The activity was shaped according to task-based learning, which consists in actively involving students in group work on meaningful tasks. The overall task assigned was the realization of a web site containing linguistic exercises planned and implemented by the pupils. Sharing it on the web aimed to provide a potential public for the activity much wider than the classroom. The pupils worked with pleasure and engagement, produced meaningful artefacts and improved their linguistic and ICT competence. The variety of activities developed and the use of the Internet to widen the learning context spots this experience as a blended learning one. The paper argues that fruitful blending may take place on a wide range of learning aspects and that teachers' creativity in the pedagogical planning can give rise to stimulating and innovative activities.
