Abstract

The discussion is focalised around the question whether time is illusory according to Albert Einstein, or real according to llya Prigogine and, in the latter case, if a relationship exists between the time as subjectively perceived by humans and the "objective" time of physics. Going to more specific details, main arguments of discussions were the problems arising from the non-local properties of the quantum theory and the scientific use of the literature data about the altered states of consciousness. It was realised that pregeometry and spacetime discretization can shed new light on the causality breakdown implied by quantum theory and may constitute a new and effective way of scientific investigation with the aim to open new ways for the solution of the enigma of time.
