The interest towards the so-called ancoient wheat, einkorn, emmer, oriental wheat or khorasan and spelt is constantly increased in the last decades. Oriental wheat (Triticum turanicum Jakubz) is a neglected and underutilised tetraploid species which survived over the time in some marginal areas of Near East and North Africa. Scarce information is available in literature on the gliadin variation within the oriental wheat germplasm. In this study the gliadin profile of 23 oriental wheat accessions with different origin, were analysed by capillary electrophoresis.
