Acetic acid (AA), as well as other short-chain organic acids, is largely used in the food industry to preserve food stuff from microbiological deteriorations. In horticultural commodities AA has been successfully employed as vapour to control the main postharvest diseases of grape, apple, plum and other commodities at concentrations of 2-5 mg/L. In this study the efficacy of postharvest treatments with AA vapours was evaluated on different citrus cultivars.
