A method based on target DART-MS/MS analysis for the detection of safflower in adulterated saffron has been developed on a newly launched triple quadrupole platform interfaced with a DART system. The method proved to be a promising tool for future applications in the rapid analysis of analytes contaminating/adulterating a wide variety of foods. Total analysis time for running 10 samples was around 5 minutes with no sample prep required.
